6 years of YouTube Festival
YouTube’s flagship UK event series, designed to showcase the platform’s latest content, creators, and innovations to advertisers, agencies, and industry leaders. Over six years, the festival has continually reinvented itself — from a fully digital, interactive world during the pandemic to high-profile live experiences in London’s most iconic venues including Elstree Studios, KOKO, Outernet, 180 The Strand, and The Truman Brewery. Each edition blended premieres, performances, talks, and networking, creating a dynamic platform for YouTube to engage the advertising community.
Challenge
Reimagine the YouTube Festival each year to reflect the evolving media landscape, consistently delivering an experience that feels fresh and culturally relevant. Adapt a global event brand for the UK market while ensuring cohesion, creativity, and impact — from an immersive digital-only festival during COVID to large-scale live productions in London’s landmark venues.
My Role
➡ Reinterpreted the US event brand for the UK market, shaping a distinct and evolving visual language each year.
➡ Directed design and artwork across all event graphics, environments, and digital touchpoints.
➡ Developed event visual identities, look & feel, and client-facing presentations to align stakeholders.
➡ Oversaw production and quality control, reviewing creative work before print, build, and broadcast.
➡ Ensured consistency and high impact across a wide variety of formats, from virtual platforms and live stage shows to full festival-style environments.
Impact
Delivered six consecutive years of YouTube Festival, each tailored to its moment — from bringing a sense of occasion into homes during lockdown to creating bold, immersive brand environments in central London. The series has reinforced YouTube’s cultural relevance in the UK, strengthened relationships with advertisers and agencies, and established the festival as a must-attend industry event.
